Last weekend was one of the best weekends of the Art Bus. We made an appearance at the Manchester Picnic which took place at Piccadilly gardens. The weather was perfect, the aroma of food filled the air and most importantly every creative mind, young or old had the opportunity to get their hands dirty and create amazing art work. All this was done by listening to a sound clip of Lagos Soundscapes by Emeka Ogboh. This brings together the sounds of a foreign and distant land unknown to some people which reminds others of a place they call home. The participants were then asked to create art work related to their idea of a perfect place. Equipped with charcoal and soft pastels these amateurs came out with work which is unbelievably beautiful and unique. Each piece of art tells a story of an individual letting him or herself free, forgetting about society’s idea of perfect and coming out with their idea of perfect.
