TACTILE TOO launch event
To celebrate the launch of our new Secondary and Post-16 textile resource TACTILE TOO, on March 7th from 4-6pm we’d like to invite you come in to the gallery and have a look at our exciting new handling pieces.
You’ll have the chance to chat to the artists who made the commissioned pieces in TACTILE TOO. Members of our learning team and other gallery staff will there to discuss how our resource can be used with students.
If you’d be interested in coming along to our launch event and finding out more about TACTILE TOO, please RSVP to Amy Jones 0161 2757453, firstname.lastname@example.org
What is TACTILE TOO?
TACTILE TOO is a contemporary textiles handling resource, showcasing the work of emerging Northwest textile makers. It can be used alongside the existing resource TACTILE in the gallery, or used in college or university setting. Both resources will be available for students and practicing textile makers to look at, handle, be inspired by and gain an understanding of career paths.
Using textile materials in surprising ways, to be playful and express ideas are all common approaches used by the selected TACTILE TOO artists.
The artists in TACTILE TOO are:
- Laura-Jane Atkinson
- Emma Blackburn
- Karen Casper
- Chloe Hamill.
TACTILE TOO imaginatively demonstrates how textiles can convey powerful messages using a range of innovative techniques and evocative materials.
